How to install drivers without signature check in Win8?

I was trying to get an old driver installed in Win 8, and it took me a while to figure out how to do it. To spare you from pain and learn from my mistakes, this is what you need to do if you run in to a "Third party inf does not contain digital signature information" error when installing some old driver.

Run the command "shutdown /r /o /f /t 00"
Choose "troubleshoot" from the option screen, followed by "advanced options".
In "windows startup settings", choose restart.
After restart, you will get an option (#7) to choose "disable driver signature enforcement".
